Alain de Botton is a Swiss-born, British-based philosopher, writer, and television presenter. His books and television programmes discuss various contemporary subjects and themes, emphasizing philosophy's relevance to everyday life. He co-founded Living Architecture which aims to give everyone access to the work of some of the greatest architects in the world. He is an Honorary Fellow of the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA).

Our trustees

Alexander Stevenson co-founded RSe Consulting in 2001, advising over 150 local authorities and several central government departments on issues including value for money, partnership working, e-government and data. RSe was bought by Tribal Group in 2008. He is a trustee of the Young Foundation and of Fight for Peace UK. Alexander also worked for the Financial Times for five years, was chief executive of the Bankside Traders Association, interim Director of Uprising and is the author of ‘Public Sector: Managing the unmanageable’ (published by Kogan Paul in 2013).

 

 

Fabian Richter is a director of a leading UK investment management firm, and has previously worked at Standard Life and McKinsey & Company. Having lived in central London for 20 years, Fabian passionately cares about urban planning and architectural design and its impact on socio-economic outcomes.

 

 

 

Isabelle Irani is a Founding Partner of Sumerian Partners, a philanthropic advisor that builds and manages portfolios of philanthropic capital for foundations, families and corporates. Previously she was a portfolio manager at LK Advisers, the Mittal Family office, and was a Principal at venture capital firm, Advent Venture Partners. During the course of 2013, Isabelle volunteered with various organisations in the US, UK and Northern Africa and realised how her skills from asset management (sound management teams, business support and appropriate financing) were instrumental for these organisations in delivering lasting impact.

Ben Page is CEO of Ipsos MORI. A frequent writer and speaker on leadership and performance management, he has directed hundreds of surveys examining service delivery, customer care and communications.

Since 1992 he has worked closely with both Conservative and Labour ministers and senior policy makers across government, leading on work for Downing Street, the Cabinet Office, the Home Office and the Department of Health, as well as a wide range of local authorities and NHS Trusts. He has been named one of the "100 most influential people in the public sector" by the Guardian newspaper.

Yolande Barnes is Head of Savills World Research. She writes regularly for research publications, national and international newspapers on a variety of property-related topics and regularly appears on television and radio.

Sian Hansen is Executive Director of the Legatum Institute. Previously, Sian spent seven years as the Managing Director of the UK think tank Policy Exchange. Sian is a Non-Executive Director of the JP Morgan Income and Capital Trust PLC, a Non-Executive Director on the advisory board for Cerno Capital PLC, and a Non-Executive Director of Pacific Assets Trust. She also sits on the board of the Centre for Entrepreneurs and is a Commissioner of The Women's Refugee Commission (USA). Formerly, she was Head of Sales for Asian Equities at Société Générale.
