The Create Communities mapping project for Tampere West, Finland.
Forming part of JTP’s project to create a vision for the regeneration of the western part of Tampere, Finland, known as West+, the Create Communities mapping platform was used to gather evidence for the co-design process. Inviting members of the public to comment on the local area and give their dreams for the future, the project helped contribute to the overall vision for Tampere West+ with just under 500 resident comments. Recommendations included ideas for: creating a new vibrant mixed use urban quarter; investing in parks and green spaces with better connections for active travel; new housing; and parking and building height policies.
